To celebrate Banned Books Week, EPL is pleased to host acclaimed YA author Mindy McGinnis! As book challenges and bans have ramped up in the past couple of years, McGinnis's work has been subject to criticism. What is it like when your work is scrutinized by people outside of your target audience? What are some things authors can do to strengthen the bonds with their readers? Mindy will touch on the research involved in her work, the respect and care she puts into writing books for teens, and how it is in direct opposition to what uninformed non-readers have to say about her work.
